Week 3 Story: The Final Rose

It’s the final episode of The Bachelor Season 24. They have been showing the previews for this episode for months on ABC! The Bachelor this season is Ray. Ray is an extremely handsome millionaire. He is also incredibly kind, strong, and does a ton of non-profit work! He is literally the world’s most perfect man. (It’s also rumored that his father is the king of an undisclosed middle-eastern country, but that when he passed away, Ray gave over the thrown to his brother and went away to work with orphanages in Africa, and then after that he went on to start his own life in America… I’m not sure how much of that is true, but that is what the tabloids are all saying.) Anyways, it has come down to Sasha and Katie. Everyone is hoping that Ray is smart enough to pick Sasha. They are literally perfect together. Sasha is so kind and caring and she loves Ray so much! (Not to mention the fact that she is beautiful…she was Miss Universe two years in a row… Just saying!) Their emotional connection and their chemistry is seriously incredible! Also, her family loves him! Her dad even took him hunting and let him use his bow and arrow which is an incredibly special family heirloom and he has never let anyone use it ever before! I mean, come on! Could you get a more perfect couple?

On the other hand, you have Katie who is absolutely terrible. She’s pretty, but that’s about all that she has going for her. (Also, the tabloids released some of her childhood photos and there is no way that chick has not had some serious plastic surgery. Apparently she also changed her name just for the show, which I think is super suspicious, but maybe that’s just me.) Plus, she is literally so rude and self-absorbed and always trash talks Sasha! Who does that with their one on one time? Has she watched The Bachelor before? I don’t think so, because if she did she would know that that is a horrible strategy. That almost always gets people sent home! Whenever they are together and aren’t trash talking Sasha, all she ever wants to do is make out with Ray. She doesn’t even make an effort to get to know him! He says she’s a great kisser, but that is absolutely no reason to marry someone! To add to how not meant to be Katie and Ray are together, her family hates him! Her brother Randall, who is this super arrogant but super buff dude, said that he would actually kill Ray if he could. Also, Randall mentioned how into Sasha he was to Ray at the family dinner! There are so many huge red flags that I have lost count!

Anyways, tonight is the final rose where the girls will meet Ray’s family! It looks like it will just be his mom Karrie and his brother Lance, but they seem super nice and you can tell that they really love Ray. From the previews it also looks like they really love Sasha and Ray together too! So, I am super excited about that! Even more so, they really do not love Katie and Ray together, which also makes me super happy! We’ll see what happens tonight, but things are looking really good for Sasha and Ray! Plus, all of the rumor sites say that they end up together, so yay all around! I hope they broadcast the wedding nationwide, because these two are going to be like Bachelor Nation royalty!

This is a picture of Rama and Sita's wedding. I imagine Ray and Sasha's will be just as beautiful!

Authors note: This short story is based on the part of the Ramayana where Rama encounters Karnavalli in the forest. Rama is married to Sita, but Karnavalli wants Rama for herself and tries to separate Rama from Sita.

  1. Hi Piper! I loved your take on this part of the Ramayana. I really liked all of the details you included, and how they could all be linked directly to parts of the original story. The detail that really wow'd me was in your description of Katie, and how you integrated her fake appearance and name into the modern twist you created. Your story left me wondering, how does the tale end?? Does Katie end up revealing some truth about herself that she isn't who she says she is, or what ends up leading him to pick Sasha, or does he even maybe make the other choice in this case? Your open ending definitely left me wanting more, in a good way! Finally, what if there was some way to incorporate Sasha and Ray already dating? Having some way to show that Katie was actually trying to break up a relationship that was already happy rather than being on a more level playing field with Sasha was probably the only big difference in the storylines. Maybe it isn't feasible with the Bachelor premise, but just a thought :)

  2. Oh my goodness. That was SO much fun to read. What a fun twist I never would have thought of (of course i've never watched the Bachelor either though). I love the details you went into, and updating names. I would've liked to read some elaboration of how Katie is even still in the running though. Like how is she even still in the competition? Was it how she acted to his face? Was there like a sad backstory that kept her in? I was also hoping for the ending. It would've been sweet to read Sasha's reaction to getting picked, and how Katie would feel/try to retaliate.

  3. This is actually hilarious. Although I am not a fan of the show this was very entertaining and reminded me of fans of the show that get really into it. I wish you would have put the rose ceremony in here that would have been gold! Also it would have been really funny if you did like the confession rooms that people go in and spill their guts and how they feel just to add to the reality TV show feel of it or even did a little scene with a date between the two. At least I think they do that on this show.

  4. I love watching the bachelor. In fact, I'm about to watch the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise right now (no shame, free entertainment). This sounded like it could be an actual transcript of an episode of the Bachelor, well done! I could see Rama's character being an actual person ABC Network would want as the Bachelor, so I think this is a very fitting rendition of the story about Karnavalli.
