An Introduction About Me, My Major, and My Summer!

Hello! My name is Piper Allred, and I am a senior Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. The coolest thing about my major is definitely that it involves my favorite thing in the whole wide world, which is singing! My favorite class that I took last semester was probably my Vocal Literature class. I really enjoyed learning about all of the different repertoire, styles, and composers that apply specifically to my instrument! Last semester my biggest accomplishment was my grades. I was so excited to make the President’s Honor Roll! After the semester ended, I went to go visit my friend who was studying abroad in Italy! I was so excited! It was my first time to ever leave the country and I was so nervous that something would go terribly wrong, but all of it went well! I landed in Florence, then took the train to meet my friend in Arezzo. She and I then traveled from Arezzo back to Florence. Then from Florence we went up to Milan and Lugano, Switzerland, then over to Verona and Venice...

The image is from Fred Miller and is titled, "Sita Drops Jewelry". It demonstrates Sita dropping her jewelry when she is captured by Ravana in order to leave a trail for Rama to come find her. I feel like this picture presents Sita as a strong female character and really embodies what I want my storybook to capture!

My Favorite Place: New York City

My favorite place in the whole world is New York City. Ever since I was eight, it has been my dream to live in New York someday! When I was 16, I finally got to go to New York with my family. It was incredible! We stayed at the Hilton Times Square. It was so neat to be right in the middle of the city! Our first night there, we ate my favorite dessert of all time! It was at Bond 45, and it was called "Mousse in a Bucket". It is this giant bucket of mousse and whipped cream that they come around and dollop on your plate! It is SO yummy! While we were there we also got to check out Times Square, which was incredible! Very few things in life look like the movies, but Times Square lived up to everything I've ever seen! It was so bright and full of life! We also visited the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Hall, and Central Park! At the Met Museum, there was this really neat exhibit over fashion at the Met Gala. They had all of these incredible dresses that were so beautiful!...
